ABOUT US

OUR SHIP

The Black Ghost pirate ship is fully inspected and certified by the US Coast Guard to hold up to 30 passengers. She is a 45-foot, wooden ship built in 1974 and spent most of her life working as a passenger vessel on the Hudson River in New York.

From there she went to Cocoa Beach, Florida where she enjoyed being a cruise boat on the Indian River. In 2015 she made her way to Charleston and was transformed into a custom pirate ship and renamed “The Black Ghost“.

OUR CRUISES

The cruise aboard the Black Ghost pirate ship is nonstop fun for approximately and hour and a half. Upon arrival we will meet at the yellow Pirate Cruise sign in front of the La Quinta hotel. There we will spend about 15 minutes getting the little pirates ready for their big pirate adventure.

We will dress them like pirates, give them their own pirate name and teach them how to talk like a pirate. From there we will head out on the Ashley River for about an hour and 15 minutes. Keep an eye out for dolphins along the way!

Bring whatever you would like to drink and even bring a cooler if you would like. We will still cruise if it is slightly raining so bring a rain jacket if needed. We have plenty of life jackets on board and you do not need to bring one. Our mission is to provide local and visiting families a pirate adventure cruise that they will remember forever.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made, via email, 48 hours in advance of your cruise time for a full refund. No exceptions are made to this policy as your seats have been reserved for you.

Pirates of Charleston reserves the right to cancel or delay trips due to weather conditions. Even pirates can’t cruise in bad weather, but we will still cruise with a light rain! You will be notified at least one hour before cruise time if we do have to cancel. Cancellations due to bad weather are the Captain’s decision. If your trip is canceled you can reschedule or request a refund.
